Antigen Test
Health care providers carry this out by searching for pieces of the virus in a patient’s sample of nasal mucus.
How it works:
An antigen test checks if your immune system has responded to coronavirus. The antigen test, as its name indicates, detects the presence of antigens, which is a protein located on the surface of the virus.
The antigen test (also known as a rapid test) works by detecting protein fragments called antigens that are specific to the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Results are received quickly, sometimes in as few as 15 minutes
Uses:
Before going to work or school, visiting family or friends, or attending large gatherings. Travel to the USA
How long for results:
Results are generated within 15 minutes and a COVID Rapid Screen wallet card is issued to the patient at the time of testing
